Microplate Instrumentation Microplate instrumentation to facilitate microplate handling and microplate processing is detailed in this section. Included are microplate readers and microplate washers that are required by labs who perform microplate based assays. There are several types of plate reader depending on whether a photometer, fluorimeter or luminometer is required. Plate washers provide the ideal way to process plates quickly and can be programmed to wash the plates as required by the user. For higher throughput users, there are also a number of labour saving devices such as a plate dispenser. This plate filler can fill a 96 well plate in 5 seconds. There is also a microplate stacker to automate microplate dispensing and a microplate incubator shaker to accept up to 9 microplates.
