UVITEC is a Cambridgeshire based manufacturer of biomolecular imaging systems for quantification of electrophoresis gels and blots as well as other fluorescent and luminescent samples. Web Scientific distributes the UVITEC range of Gel documentation and Chemiluminescence systems. UVITEC systems are supplied with advanced image analysis software for simple and intuitive analysis of results.
Fluorescent DNA and Colorimetric Protein gel imaging
The UVITEC gel doc line consists of a range of gel documentation systems, designed for imaging fluorescent DNA gels and colorimetric protein gels. All systems feature Epi-white light for gel placement and include the UVITEC-1D License–free software as standard Starting with the Essential V6, an affordable gel documentation system featuring a 3 megapixel native resolution camera with passive cooling, high quality UV illumination table and stainless steel construction.
The UVIDOC HD6 adds an inbuilt PC and touchscreen giving a truly stand alone system and is also available with a blue light illumination table for reduced DNA damage and use with new generation DNA stains.
FireReader V10 Features the option of Epi-UV and Epi-Blue illumination allowing for imaging of both DNA gels and TLC plates as well as a 6 megapixel native resolution camera, while the Platinum V10 shares this camera and features a chemiluminescene standard enclosure, meaning it can be upgraded for chemiluminescence detection at a later date.
All systems feature fully automated focus, lighting and exposure control making them easy to use and student-proof! A full comparison is available in the comparison sheet below..
